Dear Parents, Pupils and Friends,

A very warm welcome to Bushloe High School. Bushloe is a highly regarded, popular, high attaining and achieving school providing for the learning needs of children between the ages of 10 - 14, based in the local community of Wigston. This is a new school which opened in 2006. State of the art facilities for the school are innovative and distinctive giving us an excellent environment for learning in the 21st Century. It is a creative, vibrant, modern welcoming place to learn with the highest ICT and Eco sustainable features. In 2008 we gained Specialist Art School status bringing further new opportunities for the school and its wider school community partnerships.

We firmly believe that by working in partnership with parents and our local community, we provide the highest standards of education and care to support and challenge all our young people to achieve their true potential to prepare them for a successful future.

There is a strong ethos of mutual respect and community citizenship at Bushloe so that everyone can feel safe, valued, included and cared for. There is a purposeful,disciplined, orderly environment which helps them to learn, achieve and succeed.  This is at the heart of this successful and inclusive school where every child matters.

Pupils can take advantage of the wealth of opportunities available at the school. They experience a broad,balanced, enriched curriculum supported by extensive provision of extra-curricular opportunities delivered by a team of highly professional, experienced and committed staff. We continue to improve and strengthen our provision having gained national awards for Artsmark, Sportsmark, Healthy School, Eco school status, Investors in People and excellence in school leadership.

We were delighted that in our last Ofsted Inspection, May 2006 the excellent characteristics of the school were confirmed. Ofsted judged Bushloe as having "many of the characteristics of an Outstanding school".  Leadership and Management, Curriculum, Personal Development and well-being, Care, Guidance and support were all rated as "Outstanding".  Teaching Learning and overall effectiveness as "Good".

We believe that our high standards, successful Ofsted, together with a wonderful school building, confirms Bushloe is a school that provides a learning community of excellence, within a learning environment ofexcellence.  Our school combines traditional values with a modern outlook, where opportunities and learning for children can be enjoyed and enrich their lives.
